Journey from San Francisco to Santa Barbara!
The Central Coast wine regions of California have suddenly become the land of the cool kids. Some of the most notable producers, both old and new, are producing stunning wines from the stretch between San Francisco and Santa Barbara.
But why? And what makes this area so incredible?
As we’ll discuss in the webinar, it’s tied to a combination of land prices, climate change, and old vineyards. And it’s making for some unbelievable wines.
We’ll start with the Santa Cruz Mountains, proceed into Monterey County and the Santa Lucia Highlands, wiggle to Paso Robles, continue south to Arroyo Grande and Edna Valley, and end up in the northern stretches of Santa Barbara County.
As always, no specific wines are needed to have to enjoy the class. We teach on the model of “learn today to shop smarter tomorrow.” Enjoy a glass or two of anything you wish while learning. (Even a beer if you wish … don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.)
The Wine Workshops are designed to be a fast infusion of wine knowledge, taught by one of the most experienced wine educators in the country, certified sommelier Jason Kallsen along with his wife Angela. When properly and clearly explained, wine does not need to be intimidating.
