In the world of wine, there are many regions with incredibly long histories along with reaching into almost every wine shop in the world. Those are the Burgundies and Bordeauxs, amongst many others.
But every now and then an off-the-radar region emerges like a phoenix from the ashes, bringing higher quality than has ever been seen from the area, and sudden fascination from the sommelier community. Bandol is one of those regions.
In this immersive webinar, we’ll cover the region of Bandol with a fine-toothed comb. From the terroir and geography to the key grapes, to the best producers. A special section of the class will be dedicated to the legendary Domaine Tempier, arguably the winery that led the revolution, and the role that importer Kermit Lynch plus a chef from Iowa had in bringing these wines to the world’s attention.
As always, no specific wines are needed to have to enjoy the class. We teach on the model of “learn today to shop smarter tomorrow.” Enjoy a glass or two of anything you wish while learning. (Even a beer if you wish … don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.)
