This Somm Gift Kit:

  • Andrea Felici, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore: Possibly the greatest seafood wine we’ve found this year, and totally under the radar for most wine drinkers. Crisp, lively, and fresh but with a great underlying richness. Yum!
  • Vietti Barbera d’Asti “Tre Vigne”: Our go-to Barbera, and one of our favorite wineries in the world. There are dozens of great Barberas out there, but the Vietti, to us, has always had just that little bit of extra ‘oomph’ of complexity and weight.
  • Garofoli, Rosso Conero “Piancarda”: 100% Montepulciano from Adriatic coast of Italy. Meaty and spicy, a terrific winter-weight red to have with pasta with a meat sauce, pot roast, or slow-braised pork.
