Terroir is a ‘sense of place’ … but it’s so much more than that.
The term terroir gets bantered about quite a bit. It’s used to justify higher prices, explain overall quality, and make some regions very well known.
But what REALLY is terroir?
In this eye-opening webinar, we’ll approach the subject from a number of angles. From the expected and necessary-to-discuss (soil, wind, hydration, elevation, etc.) to a bit more of the unexpected (moon phases, created terroir through soil hauling, the role of history and culture, and more). A special part of the discussion will be the role of micro-biomes in the health of a vineyard with stories of how vines talk to each other. This is going to be great.
There is a ton of info to unpack here, so get ready for a packed hour of taking notes!
As always, no specific wines are needed to have to enjoy the class. We teach on the model of “learn today to shop smarter tomorrow.” Enjoy a glass or two of anything you wish while learning. (Even a beer if you wish … don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.)
