It’s hands down one of our favorite wine regions in the world, yet is misunderstood by many. Piedmont has surprises to offer, and this Wine Workshop will unlock them for you.
Covering Piedmont is difficult, for we are talking about a range of grape varieties that present in a huge range of styles. We’ll be focusing on four key grape varieties: Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbara, and Nebbiolo. We will detail the personalities of these grapes, then overlap them onto a map of the region to give you key information that you as a wine consumer needs to know. Where do the best Dolcetto and Barbera come from? What are the key differences between Barolo and Barbaresco? What are the best recent vintages and how long should you hold onto the wine? All of these questions, and many more, will be answered.
The Wine Workshops are designed to be a fast infusion of wine knowledge, taught by one of the most experienced wine educators in the country, certified sommelier Jason Kallsen. When properly and clearly explained, wine does not need to be intimidating. Which of course then makes it much more fun.
We hope you can join us for the Wine Workshop: Understanding Piedmont!
